3S started the New Year with so many opportunities and challenges.

Let’s see what we have in the first quarter of 2016.

CeBIT - the world’s largest trade fair showcasing digital IT and telecommunication solution has taken place in Hannover, Germany every spring since 1986. This year, the 3,300 companies from 70 countries, with their products and projects, demonstrated how society and business are now being dramatically transformed by new technologies and digital workflows. This year's motto at CeBIT was: "d!conomy: join – create – succeed". It summed up what's really important now, i.e. not to wait, but to join up; not to take a passive role, but to actively create; not to lag behind, but to successfully find a new position. On her speech at Opening Ceremony, Germany chancellor, Angela Merkel, highly appreciated the ideas of innovative strength of the digital economy and informed that Germany Government also focus on the digitization of the economy. Besides, the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Sigmar Gabriel presented a new digital strategy 2025 for Germany. 

According to Mr. Oliver Frese, head of Deutsche Messe AG, the company that organizes Cebit, this year CeBIT will concentrate its 3 actions on digital economy & market, digital infrastructure and digital society. For the second year taking part in CeBIT, 3S looks forward to expanding our business & services to European market and approaching new technologies.

3S Da Nang Rep. Office located at 100 Le Lai, Hai Chau, Da Nang was officially established in March 2016. With professional working environment and good policy, 3S Da Nang will be the place for talented developers in the Middle. 

In the morning of March 16, under the framework of 100RC, Da Nang Climate Change Coordination Office (CCCO) in collaboration with 3S Intersoft JSC organised a workshop to introduce the application of 3S Crisis Management System in establishment resilience strategy for Da Nang building.

VIETNAM ICT NEWS

IBM Viet Nam officially introduced the Cognitive Computing technology to Vietnamese organisations and enterprises at its 2016 IBM Business Connect conference in Ha Noi on March 18. According to Mr. Robert Morris, vice president of Global Laboratories, IBM Research, Cognitive Computing can change human and computer interactions. It can actually mimic human brain activities in the ways that they sense, respond and solve problems in healthcare, telecommunication and petro gas field. Cognitive Computing can process 80 % of quintillion bytes of data from social network, mobile and Internet of Things that we produce everyday. Therefore, it can help human make decisions in a variety of areas, such as medical fields, i.e., treating cancer, or personal judgment, i.e., choosing the right outfit.

Nikkei newspaper reported that FPT Group is focusing on telecommunication and core technologies. So they are planning to sale retail business and wholesale this later year. The deal is about 2.3 trillion - 2.7 trillion VND (103 million USD to 121 million USD). FPT is expected to invest this money on infrastructure technologies and new telecommunication services.

Apple unveiled a smaller iPhone and iPad on Monday, March 21 at a product event at its headquarters, focusing on updating existing products while offering another stern defense of its privacy policies. Chief executive Tim Cook kicked off the event by addressing the company’s stance against the FBI’s efforts to force it to unlock an iPhone used by terrorists in the San Bernardino shootings last year. The company has an important duty to protect its customers, Cook said, adding that the company “We owe it to our customers and we owe it to our country. This is an issue that impacts on all of us and we will not shrink from this responsibility.”

After 5 hours and 30 minutes of thrilling fifth and final historic match between artificial intelligence AlphaGo and Lee Sedol, the final score was 4-1 to AlphaGo. AlphaGo is a computer program developed by Google DeepMind in London in October 2015. Deepmind was founded by games prodigy and neuroscientist Demis Hassabis. Up to now, the number of possible board configurations in Go is so amazing that it is equivalent to the experience of solely playing Go for 80 years straight.

Being at CeBIT for the second year, bamboo dragonflies once again define their special role and bring 3S so many opportunities. All the documents including 400 fliers of 3S Outsourcing services, 600 fliers of 3S products such as Crisis Management System, ReadyApps, Tapee… which Mr. Nghia Tran and Mr. Tuan Pham brought to CeBIT, was sent to potential customers only after 4 days of exhibition.

Especially, RFID technology, NFC marketing service and Crisis Management System draw the most attention. Moreover, 3S received 62 contacts from potential customers who are interested in 3S outsourcing services and products.
